“I wanted to share with you that I am now officially Mia O’Sullivan, RPR!! I definitely owe a huge thanks to you and the SimplySteno program!! Thank you for teaching me the importance of reading my notes and typing up tests, dropping, breathing, just all of it! I will continue to utilize the practice techniques I have learned here. :)”

Total Structure
Total Structure – “I don’t have to put my own speedbuilding schedule together like I did in court reporting school. Every minute is planned out. Marc has picked out the court reporting drills, dictations, order, everything. I just have to sit in the chair and follow along. There’s not a second of wasted time.”
Camille Connell
We will guide you through 100% of your practice. Dictations, drills, tests, readback – your day will be packed with content. But it’s not enough just to write on your machine. With SimplySteno you’ll have concrete GOALS – a REASON to practice – no wasted time just moving your fingers. And each tool has been chosen specifically for this program based upon its level of performance. When you…
Student Testimonials
In 3 months of time with SimplySteno, I’ve made a speed jump of 70 words per minute. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the incredible structure, optional live classes, and varied dictation content that Marc offers. I found more support, encouragement, and camaraderie among fellow steno students and instructors than I ever had during my time at a typical college. I haven't had any extenuating circumstances interrupt my steno education yet (knock on wood!), but I know for a fact that if I did, Marc would never admonish me or make me feel bad if I needed to take a little time off to focus on personal affairs. Considering the personal support, structure, reasonable cost, user-friendly site, and dictation content with a wide range of difficulty, there isn't a better place I could've chosen to take my steno journey to the next level.
Erin Blair, RPR
I did the RPR prep program (part of SimplySteno) from you to help me with my certifications. One of the first assignments, if I'm remembering correctly, was to make a vision board. I indeed made a vision board and put every NCRA certification on there. While the board itself is long gone, I've pictured it in my mind over the years. Well, today I achieved the final certification on my vision board. I am now a CSR, RPR, RMR, RDR, CRR, and CRC. I truly believe that doing that vision board helped give me focus to achieve those certifications. Thank you for all you do for the steno community, and thank you for helping me towards my certifications. I am forever grateful.

I turned to SimplySteno because I wanted a structured speedbuilding program that also offered live classes. I got that and more. The daily lessons are challenging and varied, and the live classes are fun and encouraging. There are little aspects to the program, like the flash cards and student blog, that really go a long way. I built my speed, and I also built my confidence. When I found myself struggling with certain stresses, there was always a spot-on message from Marc about how to cope. The program emphasizes taking care of one's overall health as a critical aspect of writing, which has really changed my habits over the past two years. I'm really happy with this program.
Cayce Kiley, RPR
I passed my Illinois CSR! I 100% couldn’t have done this without this program. GREAT program! You can’t beat the price. Marc is very involved with his students and in helping them succeed. Daily lessons that are very structured and explain how to practice. The material is dense, which I feel helped me pass my certification exams!
Emma Lawlor, CSR
I appreciate you dearly, I can’t say it enough. Leaving my old program and joining Simply Steno was the best decision I’ve made. The schedule, keeping me on track, thorough test notes for me to learn from, it’s gotten me to where I am today. My old program was so unorganized and I never knew how to study properly and stayed at the same speed range for over a year and didn’t know how to progress. You changed my life! Thank you!

Your classes and methods work. Thank you for your expertise and friendly, professional, nonjudgmental help. I really appreciate this, because you DO live it and you ARE responsive to your students (customers). Your longevity as a successful internet school is testament that your business practices work!

I LOVE your program and the help and support that you give. I was able to regain the speed and confidence I lost with other programs, and I was able to pass my WKT due to Simply Steno and be prepared to get those other tests out of the way. I want to thank you for everything you have done and all the hard work that you put into making this program. It is sincerely appreciated, and it's nice to know there is someone out there who is willing to put in the time and effort to help students push through to make it in this environment.

I just wanted to let you know I'm working and doing well. I've been to court several time and taken depos since the beginning of December. All is going well. Thank you for your help. I only wished I had signed up with you earlier and saved myself some time.
Jean Brockley, CSR, LCR
I credit Simply Steno with helping get me through faster and pointing out what I needed to fix in my writing. I've been working as a reporter for two weeks and have really enjoyed the experience. Life has been a whirlwind, but I'm happy to be getting my feet wet. I would most certainly recommend Simply Steno over brick and mortar court reporting schools to prospective and current students I meet. Thank you so much for all your help and guidance!

Total Feedback
Total Feedback – “I get to see my tests and errors along with Marc’s notes. I have a better idea about what to work on, because now I can see where I’m making my mistakes.”

“Marc doesn’t just tell me to “practice more” when I’m having problems. He gives me concrete things to do that target my writing/mental concerns.”
Betty Kaplan
You will be sending in transcripts an average of 3 times a week. We then send those back in an average of 5 days with corrections and comments. It’s not enough to test – you need to see your test results to guide your future practice. And we carefully walk that line between being informational and encouraging. Steno is tough – we keep you fighting forward! You need…
“SimplySteno is the best court reporting program out there. Before enrolling in SimplySteno, I thought I would never make it through court reporting school, no matter how bad I wanted it or how hard I tried to achieve it. I was paralyzed by fear of testing, fear of failure, fear of the unknown. Marc completely turned my life around with SimplySteno. This program will push you out of your comfort zone and give you the tools you need to pass any test that stands in your way. Marc’s teaching techniques are unbeatable and unconventional from the typical advice you’ll hear in traditional court reporting schools (spoiler alert: writing slop and endless practice does not always equal success.) SimplySteno’s structure and support prepared me and gave me the confidence I needed to pass the RPR, California CSR, and jump into the wonderful world of a working court reporter, and I know the lessons I learned from this program will carry me through more triumphs in the future.”
Chandler Alvino, CSR, RPR
Total Value
Total Value – Court reporting is a challenge from beginning to end, with speed bumps all along the way. Gaining speed. Passing tests. Maintaining an outside life. Daily distractions.

“I really enjoyed the flexibility this program had to offer. Being able to access my daily lessons at anytime day or night made it much easier for me to practice, based on my non-traditional schedule. Even with the program being fully remote, I still feel connected to other students in the program when we meet during zoom calls. And the price is too good to turn down.”
Alex Lederer, RPR
It’s important to understand that NO states currently require a DEGREE to become a court reporter, captioner, CART provider, or do transcription work.
Many states don’t even require certification, leaving the determination of your skills up to the hiring agency.
That said, you should ALWAYS strive to write at speeds of 225 words per minute or higher before trying to attain any of those positions. We train our students to pass the RPR exam (given through NCRA), as that will open the most employment doors.

We train court reporting students in most states, including – Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
